MG Motor India has expanded its ZS EV lineup with the introduction of a new mid-spec variant named the Excite Pro.
Priced at Rs 19.98 lakh (ex-showroom), MG claims that this addition establishes the ZS EV as the sole all-electric car in India under Rs 20 lakh featuring a dual-pane panoramic sunroof.
The Excite Pro is priced Rs 1 lakh higher than the base ZS EV Executive variant but is a significant Rs 4 lakh cheaper than the new Exclusive Plus trim. Although the detailed features of the Excite Pro are yet to be disclosed, it is confirmed to include a dual-pane panoramic sunroof. Expect a comparable set of creature comforts and safety features as seen in the now-discontinued Excite variant, as reported by Autocar.
In a strategic move, MG Motor India has revamped its EV lineup. The Excite trim has been replaced by the Excite Pro, the Exclusive is now the Exclusive Plus, and the Exclusive Pro has been renamed the Essence.
Each trim is anticipated to offer similar features as their predecessors, with the top-tier Essence boasting a 360-degree camera, a 10.1-inch touchscreen, wireless charger, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, and cutting-edge connected car technology. Safety remains a priority, featuring ADAS, six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, and hill descent control.
All trims share the same 50.3kWh battery pack, providing an ARAI range of 461km, along with a front axle-mounted 177 bhp electric motor.
Facing stiff competition from the Tata Nexon EV and the recently updated Mahindra XUV400, MG Motor India appears to be ensuring its EVs stay appealing to a broad range of buyers.
