All eyes were on MS Dhoni after he managed to secure the fifth title defeating the Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad in the finals. The wicket-keeper batter was struggling through the season with a knee injury and doubts began to creep in on if cricket had seen the last of the legendary captain.
It was also reported that Dhoni had undergone knee surgery in Mumbai in June earlier this year. Yes, Dhoni had a successful knee surgery at the Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai on Thursday. He is doing fine and will be released in a day or two. He would be resting for a few days before his extensive rehabilitation starts. It is now expected that he would have enough time to get fit to play in the next IPL,” a source close to CSK management told PTI.

The CEO of the Chennai Super Kings, Kasi Viswanathan had spoken to ANI where he revealed the injury status of the skipper. “He has recovered well (from his knee injury). He is undergoing his rehab programmes, started training.”
Fans will be even more delighted as K Viswanathan also added,” By the time the next IPL starts, I am sure he will be fit to play.”
CSK made some good purchases in the recently concluded IPL 2024 auctions where they added the likes of Daryl Mitchell, Rachin Ravindra, Shardul Thakur, Sameer Rizvi, Mustafizur Rahman and Avinash Rao Aravelly to their roster of players ahead of the season.

The CEO also revealed when the preparations for the next season would begin. He shared,” The IPL camp for the next season will start by the first week of March next year.”
