The Vaccine War is scheduled for release in theatres on September 28 and is touted to be India's first bio-science film.

Vivek Agnihotri has been actively promoting his upcoming directorial The Vaccine War. As part of this promotional campaign, the makers released a rock version of the renowned Nasadiya Sukta track, highlighting the ancient scientific knowledge present in Indian culture. This rendition is performed by Swapnil Bandodkar, who not only lends his voice but also collaborates on the music with Vanraj Bhatia. The lyrics are written by Vasant Dev. The song is based on a Rigveda sukta (hymn) and was originally featured in the historical drama series Bharat Ek Khoj, which aired on Doordarshan between 1988 and 1989.

Upon the release of this song, YouTube users shared their reactions, describing it as incredibly moving. The film The Vaccine War centres around India’s struggle against COVID-19 and the extensive efforts undertaken by the medical community to combat the global crisis. In the video accompanying the song, several critical moments are depicted, highlighting themes such as media criticism of vaccines, scepticism towards the government, and doubts regarding the quality of Indian products.

The music video includes two significant dialogues featuring Nana Patekar. In one dialogue, he speaks to scientists, emphasising that the “I" in ICMR stands for Indian, underlining the institution’s importance. In another moment, he addresses the media, suggesting that if the vaccine had a Western label, it might face much less scrutiny. These dialogues add depth to the themes explored in the video.

The Vaccine War is scheduled for release in theatres on September 28 and is touted as India’s first bio-science film. The film boasts a star-studded cast, including Nana Patekar, Pallavi Joshi, Anupam Kher, Sapthami Gowda, Raima Sen, Girja Oak, Nivedita Bhattacharya, Mohan Kapur, and Vivek Prabhakar. It pays homage to the dedicated scientists and doctors who, under challenging circumstances, successfully developed India’s own indigenous vaccine, showcasing the immense pressure and numerous obstacles they encountered.

Produced by Pallavi Joshi under the production house, I Am Buddha, the film will be released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu this month. The much-awaited movie will face off against the comedy-drama Fukrey 3 at the box office.
