Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah fame Jheel Mehta has finally revealed if she was fired from Asit Kumarr Modi’s show because of her height. Recently, Jheel was speaking to a media portal when she clarified that all such reports are untrue. The young actress revealed that she left TMKOC because she wanted to prepare for her academics.
“I left Taarak Mehta because I was in 10th standard and as you know, we have these board exams. I needed to prepare for them and which is why I decided to leave the show,” Jheel said as quoted by TellyChakkar.
“The number of people who think that I was fired because of my height from the show is just outrageous. One, I was not fired from the show and two, I quit the show because I had to focus on my studies. I just wanted to focus on my studies. Why is it so difficult for people to understand that? I don’t get it,” the actress added.
Jheel Mehta played the role of Sonalika Aatmaran Bhide aka Sonu in TMKOC. However, she left the show in 2012. Besides Jheel, several other actors have also left TMKOC including Disha Vakani, Bhavya Gandhi, Shailesh Lodha, Neha Mehta and Jennifer Mistry. Later, Raj Anadkat, who used to play the role of Tappu in the popular sitcom, also left the show.
Meanwhile, In January this year, Jheel shared her marriage proposal video on social media and revealed that she is going to get married soon. In the clip, Jheel’s friends were seen getting her to the rooftop where her boyfriend, Aditya proposed to her. The actress was visibly emotional as she said ‘yes’ to the love of her life. Jheel then hugged her boyfriend as he also kissed her forehead. “Koi mil gaya, mera dil gaya,” Jheel wrote in the caption of the video.
