Taapsee Pannu is one of the most popular actresses of Bollywood. With a host of films like Pink and Thappad to her credit, Taapsee Pannu has rightly cemented her place in the entertainment industry. The actress who shared the screen with Shah Rukh Khan in Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki shared in her recent interview that she couldn’t believe she bagged a film helmed by Rajkumar Hirani.
Speaking with the entertainment portal Bollywood Hungama, Taapsee Pannu recalled, “Everybody isn’t like Rajkumar Hirani sir. He doesn’t necessarily need that comfort zone. He texted me out of the blue after watching Manmarziyaan. After watching a lot of my films, purely on merit, he reached out to me for Dunki. It was too good to be true and which is why I didn’t believe it till the first schedule of the film got over. People would ask me at home, ‘Tu picture mein hai na? Nikal toh nahi dia tujh? (You are in the film right? They didn’t kick you out?). In fact, one-and-a-half years before the film went on floors, people were telling me that Raju sir might be looking at some other actors, nothing came from Raju sir though, he was sure about me. So, it was difficult for me to settle down and accept that I am doing this film.”
Recently, the actress shared her experience of working with Shah Rukh Khan. Taapsee was speaking to the Times Of India, when she shared, “In your head, obviously, all the flash cuts of all his (Shah Rukh Khan’s) films and the moments he’s created on screen, his songs to his dialogues and all of that keep giving a good reel. But when you come in front of him, it’s not like he has an intimidating personality. He is a very warm and welcoming person. But because you can see the same man you’ve been seeing for years on the big screen, you just freeze in that moment.”
Next, Taapsee will be seen in the comedy-drama film, Woh Ladki Hai Kahan. The movie is written and directed by Arshad Syed and will also star Prateik Babbar and Pratik Gandhi in the lead roles. Apart from that, the much-awaited sequel to Haseen Dillruba is in the works. In Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba, she will be sharing the screen with Vikrant Massey, Sunny Kaushal, and Jimmy Shergill.
