Back in 2021, Akanksha Puri emerged as a winner of Swayamvar: Mika Di Vohti. Mika Singh had chosen Akanksha as his partner among several contestants on the show. Recently, the singer opened up on the current status of his relationship status and also revealed that Akanksha and he have chosen to remain friends.
In an interview with ETimes, Mika revealed that even though he choose her as his companion, he later felt that they were not meant to be together. He shared, “I liked the idea of the swayamvar and hence took up the show. However, after choosing Akanksha as my companion, I realised that we were not meant to be with each other. I am a singer, musician and she is an actress. I keep travelling across the world for my concerts, while she is stationed at one place because of her projects. I figured that if she was also a singer, we could have collaborated and travelled together, but since she is an actor and her work is different from mine, we mutually decided to be friends.”
Back in July this year, Akanksha also spoke about the same shared that they remain to be good friends. “We mentioned on the show that we were friends for many years. We continue to be that. We are just friends and not a couple. “The swayamvar was about choosing a partner, so we decided on each other as we have known each other for almost a decade. We have never said that we are in love or displayed any romance. We were clear that we were looking for a life partner and preferably someone who has been a friend. But post the show, nothing has changed between us and we continue to be the same old friends that we were,” the actress added.
Meanwhile, Akanksha Puri was recently seen in Bigg Boss OTT 2. Mika Singh on the other hand has bagged Welcome 3 with Akshay Kumar.
