Lakshmi Manchu On Hitting a Man at During SIIMA 2023 Interview: 'He Got What He Deserved'

Lakshmi Manchu broke her silence on the viral video in which she was seen hitting a man. Earlier this month, Lakshmi was seen attending South Indian International Movie Awards aka SIIMA 2023 with several other South Indian stars. During the awards show, she was seen in between an interview when a man suddenly walked into the frame. The actress was visibly upset with the intrusion and hit the man. In a new interview, Lakshmi addressed the viral video and justified hitting the man.

She said that he got what he deserved. Lakshmi added that she understands what the journalist must have felt during the moment because she has also been through similar situations when she is interviewing other people. “It was not some random person taking a video. But he was so nonchalant and just walked through the camera. I am an actor, you don’t come in front of my camera. Never do that with any artiste. He rightly got what he deserved. These are basic manners that people don’t have. I slapped him and he deserved it. I didn’t go out of my way. He came into my world,” Lakshmi said while speaking with Hindustan Times.

Lakshmi said that she insisted the cameraperson keep the clip in the final cut of the video. “I asked her to keep it. I can protect myself. I don’t care if it gets out. I am also an interviewer and have seen people come and say certain things where they feel they have shared too much. And then I get a call back asking me not to air that. I’ve done that for every celebrity and you respect them. But I don’t care,” she added.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Lakshmi was last seen in the Malayalam action film Monster. The actress starred alongside Mohanlal.
