Hema Malini performed as Meera Bai in Mathura recently for the saint's birth anniversary celebrations.

Veteran actress Hema Malini has been lauded for her acting prowess and beauty throughout her career. During her illustrious career, her expressions and her grasp over the art of dance have set her apart and given her an edge over her contemporaries. Today, Hema is not only an actress but also a Member of Parliament, representing Mathura from the BJP. She recently performed a dance drama in Mathura to honour Meera Bai.

On Thursday, November 23, the people of Mathura celebrated Meera Bai’s 525th birth anniversary. To mark this special occasion, Hema Malini performed a dance drama depicting the love that the saint had for Lord Krishna. The event was also attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Hema looked stunning as she performed in a yellow lehenga with a gold border. She paired it with a green blouse and wore statement gold jewellery including a mathapatti, a nath and a gorgeous necklace. The video of the veteran actress performing the dance drama has gone viral online.

One person commented, “Is umra main bhi ye utsah adbhud hain (Such enthusiasm at this age is wonderful).” Another added, “So amazing, absolutely elegant!” One fan of the actress wrote, “Timeless beauty and elegance.” Another added, “Hemaji dances with such ease and grace.”

While netizens appreciated Hema’s performance as an actor, a few people had something else to say about her as a politician. One person wrote, “She’s amazing and wonderful.. excellent in this but she should stick to this only.. leave politics it’s not her forte.. I have high regard for her but I don’t like her as a politician.” “She does everything except her work of MP,” another added.
