Has Shah Rukh Khan's Chaleya From Jawan Overtaken International Hits On Spotify?

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has once again reaffirmed his status as the reigning king of Indian cinema, thanks to the astounding success of his recent blockbuster, Jawan. The film not only garnered accolades from both audiences and critics but also shattered numerous box office records. Now, Jawan has added yet another remarkable feather to its cap. Recent reports indicate that the romantic track Chaleya from the film has broken the all-time single-day streaming record in India. Currently, this song is trending at the number 1 spot on Spotify India and has climbed to the impressive 27th position globally. This achievement stands as a significant milestone for Anirudh Ravichander, as Chaleya has surpassed his previous hit, Hukum, from the Rajinikanth starrer.

The success of Chaleya is even more remarkable because the global top 30 spots on the music platform are dominated by Western artists such as Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, BTS’ Jungkook, Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa and others. Initially, Anirudh faced criticism for his work on the album for SRK’s film, but the romantic track has certainly silenced all the critics. The romantic track is not only trending on Spotify but is also trending on platforms like YouTube and Instagram.

Chaleya, from Jawan, featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Nayanthara, has shown impressive progress on the global charts. Starting from 32, the romantic track has gained tremendous popularity among fans and it has now climbed up to the 27th position. The song has surpassed tracks of other prominent artists like BTS singer V’s Love Me Again, The Weeknd’s Starboy, Arijit Singh’s Hiriye, and many others.

Earlier talking about creating music for SRK’s film, Anirudh had stated, “I never had any specific dream about going to Bollywood. I grew up watching Shah Rukh sir’s films and I am a big fan. My brother Atlee is directing the film and he is taking us all there. So, it’s going to be a great experience for all of us. I met Shah Rukh, sir. With Jawan, I think I can expand my musical audience.”

Anirudh’s debut song, Why This Kolaveri Di, composed for the 2012 film 3, became a global sensation and garnered over 400 million views on YouTube. Since then, he has consistently delivered hit songs and worked on blockbuster films, including Beast, Jailer, Kaththi, Petta, Jersey, and many others, establishing himself as a prominent music composer in the Indian film industry.

Jawan directed by Atlee, features Shah Rukh Khan along with Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, Riddhi Dogra, and Eijaz Khan in supporting roles. Additionally, Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Dutt make special appearances in the film.
