Jr NTR-starrer Devara: Part 1 is a huge success at the box office. The action-packed film directed by Koratala Siva saw a jump in its numbers on its second Sunday.
According to a report by Sacnilk, the film collected Rs 8.75 crore at the box office on Day 9. With a total Telugu occupancy of 29.51 per cent as of October 5, the film has so far crossed Rs 230.35 crore.
Devara: Part 1 is not only a domestic success but has also made a huge impact globally. The film’s worldwide box office collection stands at a whopping Rs 365 crore, making it one of the top earners of 2024. The mass entertainer, made on a sizable budget of Rs 300 crore, continues to break records with strong ticket sales.
Devara: Part 1 features Jr NTR in a dual role portraying Devara and Varadha. Janhvi Kapoor plays Thangam, while Saif Ali Khan essays the role of the villain Bhaira.
The cast also includes Shine Tom Chacko, Murali Sharma and Prakash Raj. The film was released in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada.
Before the release of Devara: Part 1, the makers had planned a pre-release event in Hyderabad on September 22. The event could not go ahead as planned as the rush was so huge that it exceeded the venue’s capacity, resulting in the event being cancelled.
Jr. NTR was deeply disappointed with the situation and expressed his feelings in a video shared by the makers on X (formerly known as Twitter). His Telugu message roughly translates to, “I am very sad that Devara’s event has been cancelled, especially because I was looking forward to it so much. I enjoyed spending time with you guys and sharing many interesting details about Devara.”
We regret being in this situation but are forever grateful to our beloved Man of Masses NTR’s fans. ????????????????The biggest celebration awaits. See you in theatres on Sept 27th.#Devara #DevaraOnSep27th pic.twitter.com/oSXa2ga6Za

“I was looking forward to sharing many details about Devara and explaining the efforts that went into the film. However, the event could not take place due to security reasons. I share your disappointment. My pain is greater than yours. In my opinion, it is wrong to blame the producers or the organisers for the cancellation of the event,” Jr NTR added. Devara: Part 1 was bankrolled by Yuvasudha Arts and NTR Arts. The film marks the Telugu debut of Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor.
