The final trailer of Venom: The Last Dance packed quite a punch, showcasing what seems to be a final, emotional goodbye between Eddie Brock and Venom and the introduction of the big villain, Knull. Here’s all you need to know about Venom’s most formidable adversary.
Who is Knull?
For the unaware, Knull is an Eldritch God of darkness and the king of symbiotes. Originally recruited by the Celestials to be the King in Black, he quickly rejected their beliefs and waged war against them and the entire universe.
What are Knulls Powers?
Knull created a blade made of living darkness called the Necrosword, in an attempt to take over the universe. Knull eventually lost the Necrosword and began experimenting with his powers, which led to the creation of the symbiotes and the hive mind to control them.
Where has Knull been all this time?
When Knull’s symbiote dragons reached Earth, they were met by a young Thor, who destroyed the dragons, causing their remnants to bond with hosts across Earth. The hive mind was infested with ideals of nobility and honour, causing them to rebel and imprison Knull on his home planet.
How does Knull escape?
In the comics, Knull was eventually freed from imprisonment by the conflict between Eddie Brock/Venom and Cletus Cassidy/Carnage. Knull then asserted his authority over the symbiotes by destroying Klyntar and rebuilding his army.
What does Knull want with Venom?
In Venom: The Last Dance, it appears that Venom has something that Knull wants, which he will stop at nothing to get, sending more symbiotes to Earth to take down Eddie and Venom. In the trailer, it is confirmed that the other symbiotes fled Klyntar to escape from Knull.
