Popularly known as Annapurna, Amrita was a popular name in the Bhojpuri entertainment industry. She worked alongside Bhojpuri star Khesari Lal Yadav in Deewanapan. Amrita also acted in a number of Hindi films and shows including Haider (2014), Dangal (2016) and Chennai Express (2013). She was last seen in the web series Pratishodh.

Who Was Amrita Married To?

Amrita was married to Chandramani Jhangad, an animation engineer. The two tied the knot in 2022 and used to live in Mumbai. On April 18, 2024, Amrita went to Bhagalpur in Bihar to attend her sister’s wedding. While her husband returned to Mumbai after the wedding, Amrita decided to stay back for a few days.

What Do We Know About Amrita Pandey’s Death?

On April 27, Jogsar Police in Bihar received the news of a woman’s alleged suicide at the Divyadharma Apartment. Upon arrival and entry into the premises, cops discovered the body of actress Amrita Pandey lying on the bed. According to statements from family members quoted by TOI, Amrita’s sister entered her room around 3:30 pm and found the actress hanging from a noose. Efforts were made to save her, and Amrita was rushed to the nearest hospital, but she was declared dead on arrival. The Jogsar police station is currently investigating her death.

Meanwhile, Amrita’s family has also claimed that the actress was worried about her career as she was not getting enough work opportunities for some time. A report by the Times of India also claimed that Pandey was also battling depression.
