Growing up, we all watched David Dhawan’s cult comedy films. One of his films released in the late 90s era was Biwi No 1. Starring Salman Khan, Karisma Kapoor, Sushmita Sen, Tabu, and Anil Kapoor in the lead, the film was a box-office blockbuster. The film marked 25 years of release on May 28 and on this occasion, let’s revisit the moment when Karisma expressed her wish to see sister Kareena in the remake of Biwi No 1.
When asked about one of her films in which she would want Kareena to replace her during an interview with IANS in 2019, Karisma was quick to say Biwi No 1. Divulging further on their bond, she emphasised the strong equation between them while also underling the dependency on each other for constant support.
The Murder Mubarak actress was questioned if Kareena sought her advice on motherhood. While answering, Karisma referred to the Crew actress as ‘biggest confidante’ and said, “Kareena and I are very close, and we discuss everything, including our kids. We are both each other’s biggest confidante and support system.”
Karisma Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor are pure sibling goals. On various occasions, they have publically appreciated each other’s role in their lives. At an event organized by the Ladies Study Group in Kolkata a few weeks ago, Karisma also shared, “She has a strong personality; as a child also, she knew what she wanted, but to me, she’ll always be my first baby.”
Workwise, Karisma Kapoor was last seen in Homi Adajania’s Murder Mubarak. The film, released on Netflix, also starred Sara Ali Khan, Pankaj Tripathi, Vijay Varma, and Tisca Chopra. As for Kareena Kapoor, she won hearts with her performance in the film Crew directed by Rajesh A Krishnan. The heist comedy also starred Kriti Sanon and Tabu in the lead roles.
