'The X-Files' revival script made David Duchovny emotional

Los Angeles: David Duchovny will be returning to his iconic character of Fox Mudler with all new 'The X-Files: Event Series' and the actor says he became emotional when he was given the script of the new show.

'The X-Files' that first premiered on world television back in 1993 has been revived for an all-new 2016 series with returning cast David Duchovny (Fox Mudler) and Gillian Anderson (Dana Scully).

"It was nostalgia. Just to see Mulder and Scully on the page and all that stuff. Honestly, I wish I never said it because it's brought up all the time. Think of it this way, it's like reading a letter from camp that you wrote when you were fifteen. It was nostalgia or something.

"It didn't have to do with the actual words on the page. It was the fact - 'Oh, I'm reading an X-File.' Try to put it to bed with all your readers. Don't ask him anymore why he cried! I felt emotional, I didn't cry," Duchovny said in a statement.

'The X-Files: Event Series' premieres on Saturday, January 30 at 9pm on Star World Premiere HD.
