The Great Indian Kapil Show: Sunil Grover's Dafli Sings For Diljit Dosanjh And Team Chamkila, Laughs Guaranteed

Kapil Sharma’s latest comedy series, The Great Indian Kapil Show, has taken the world by storm, as it is trending on Netflix. Ever since its debut episode featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor and Riddhima Kapoor Sahni started streaming, viewers have been hooked. Now, audiences are eagerly waiting for the next rib-tickling episode, featuring the Chamkila movie cast Diljit Dosanjh, Parineeti Chopra and director Imtiaz Ali. In an earlier promo, Kapil and his team welcomed the guests with their trademark charm as they sang for them. In the most recent promo shared by the streaming giant, the promo featured a hilarious performance by Sunil Grover as Dafli, which left Diljit, Parineeti and Imtiaz along with the comedian in stitches.

Diljit and Parineeti’s recent release explores the life of late Punjabi singer, Amar Singh Chamkila, known for his controversial yet highest selling music. Despite achieving massive fame, Chamkila’s life was tragically cut short when he and his wife, Amarjot, were shot dead at a young age. In the latest teaser, Grover steals the spotlight with his antics, as he is seen promoting both the movie and the comedy show by singing a hilarious song. Sharing the promo, Netflix wrote, “Plan: Aaj Chamkila dekhunga and kal Chamkila ke sitaaron ko on The Great Indian Kapil Show.”

Meanwhile, in a recent conversation with Pinkvilla, the Chamkila director spoke about casting Diljit Dosanjh, Parineeti Chopra in the biopic. He said, “Diljit was the obvious choice but I actually took some time to get to him because I was thinking that it might not work out with him for a few reasons. Parineeti was the first choice. Basically, I needed singers for this part so my range was narrowed down by that. Ultimately, Diljit was the obvious choice. When you watch the film, hopefully, you will realize that.”

After a long break, Kapil Sharma made a massive comeback with The Great Indian Kapil Show on Netflix. Other than the comedian himself, the team includes Sunil Grover, Krushna Abhishek, Archana Puran Singh, Kiku Sharda and Rajiv Thakur. The show kicked off on March 30, and the team welcomed Ranbir Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor and Riddhima Kapoor Sahni in its premiere episode. Following up the star studded debut, the second episode featured Indian cricketing sensations Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer.
