Thalapathy Vijay And GOAT Team Visit Late Actor-politician Vijayakanth's Home To Seek Blessings

Thalapathy Vijay starrer The Greatest of All Time (GOAT) has been making headlines since the project was announced. This Tamil science fiction action film is directed by Venkat Prabhu and produced by AGS Entertainment. Meanwhile, recently Thalapathy Vijay, along with the whole team, paid a visit to the late actor-politician Vijayakanth’s residence to seek his blessings for their upcoming project.

According to reports, late actor Vijayakanth will be making a cameo in GOAT, thanks to AI. The director had earlier taken permission for the same from Vijayakanth’s wife and politician, Premalatha.

On Monday, August 19, director Venkat Prabhu shared photos from their visit to Vijayakanth’s house on his official X handle. Late actor Vijayakanth’s wife Premalatha also shared a social media post about the same. Sharing the photo, director Venkat Prabhu wrote, “With all the blessings of our #Captain #TheGreatestOfAllTime,” in the caption. Take a look at the post:

Meanwhile, in a recent media interaction, Prematha, who is the president of Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK), shared, “Director Venkat Prabhu visited our house 4-5 times and had several rounds of talks with my son, Shanmugapandian. He also requested that he meet me. I recently went to Chennai for the election campaign, and we met regarding the same. He explained that they wanted to bring back Captain Vijayakanth alive in a scene in ‘GOAT’. They sought our permission. He also added that Vijay wanted to meet me in person.”

Director Venkat Prabhu’s upcoming film GOAT is Vijay’s 68th film before he fully shifts his career to politics. Reports suggest the film will feature Vijay in double roles, and it is all set to release in cinemas this September.

Apart from Vijay, the GOAT also stars Meenakshi Chaudhary, Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Mohan, Jayaram, Sneha, Laila and Ajmal Ameer in significant roles. GOAT features music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, cinematography by Siddhartha Nuni, and editing by Venkat Raajen.

Vijayaraj Alagarswami, better known by his stage name Vijayakanth, was an Indian actor, film director, film producer, philanthropist, and politician. He served as the leader of the opposition in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly from May 27, 2011 to February 21, 2016. He was the founder and second general secretary of the Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam. Vijayakanth acted in over 150 films in his career spanning four decades. He was well known for his performances in Vaidehi Kathirunthal (1984), Amman Kovil Kizhakale (1986), Poonthotta Kaavalkaaran (1988), and Senthoora Poove (1988), to name a few.
