Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon’s movie Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya went through a censorship check and the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) decided to cut a scene where the characters are intimate, making it 25% shorter. They removed 9 seconds, reducing the original 36-second sequence to 27 seconds. Besides, according to Bollywood Hungama, the CBFC changed the word ‘Daru’ to ‘Drink’ in the second half of the film.
That apart, the Examining Committee told the makers to make the anti-smoking message easier to read in bigger, Hindi letters. After these changes, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya got a U/A certificate from the CBFC on February 2, just before its Valentine’s week release. Directed by debut directors Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah, the film has a runtime of 143.15 minutes, or 2 hours, 23 minutes, and 15 seconds.
Shahid recently revealed exclusively to News18 what kept him away from romantic entertainers. He shared that cracking the perfect script for a romantic love story is difficult for him, as he’s keen on offering something new to the audience with his filmi outings. “I was kind of missing doing something light and fun, definitely, but honestly, it’s the most difficult genre to crack. Because, I mean, I listen to 10 scripts a month, and people don’t know that there’s so much you hear from others – people tell me ‘aur picture karo’. But it’s so difficult to find scripts that could offer the audience something new, and love story is the most difficult genre, I feel, to do. And then, I just found this film was answering that question of mine, like what is it that you can do new in a love story.”
Meanwhile, Shahid and Kriti are busy promoting the film in full swing. As part of their promotions, the lead actors also shot for the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. The film releases on February 9.
