Tanuj Virwani made progress in the industry with shows like Illegal - Justice, Out of Order, Cartel and Murder Meri Jaan.

Tanuj Virwani, known for his role in Inside Edge, has completed a decade in the entertainment industry. He gained prominence for his role as Vayu Raghavan in the 2017 series. Since then, he’s made progress in the industry with shows like Illegal – Justice, Out of Order, Cartel, Murder Meri Jaan and others. Soon, he will be seen in Zee5’s Murshid, which is slated to release this weekend. In his latest interview, Tanuj opened up about his struggles in the industry as well as drew a comparison with his Inside Edge co-star Siddhant Chatuvedi.

In conversation with the Free Press Journal, Tanuj Virwani recalled how Inside Edge helped him in building his career. Tanuj revealed, “My first three films did not work at the box office. My career was very well resurrected by the advent of OTT and Inside Edge in particular.” He added that at present, he is trying to make a name for himself across three mediums: cinema, web and television. He mentioned, “This year has shown that you can be diverse and you can find acceptance across mediums. You do not have to paint yourself into a corner.”

Comparing his journey so far with his Inside Edge co-star Siddhant Chaturvedi, Tanuj stated, “Like revolutionary in the sense that those changes happen overnight, like if you see some crazy success and overnight your life changes. I’ll give an example, like Siddhant Chaturvedi. One fine day we’re shooting for Inside Edge. The next day, Gully Boy comes out, and he blows up. He becomes a star almost overnight.” He expressed that his journey was not the same, but it was more “gradual” and “steady.”

Tanuj’s upcoming release Murshid also stars Kay Kay Menon in a key role. The film also features Zakir Hussain and Rajesh Shringarpure. Murshid’s trailer transports audiences to the dark and gritty world of Mumbai’s criminal world, where retiring don Murshid Pathan (Kay Kay Menon) is drawn back into the perilous life he intended to move on from. His peaceful existence is disturbed when his old enemy, Farid (Zakir Hussain), takes Murshid’s son into a dangerous scheme, forcing him to make a comeback. Murshid fights to defend his family while being pursued relentlessly by his adopted son, Inspector Kumar Pratap Rana (Tanuj Virwani). It will start streaming on August 30.
