Sunny grabbed attention for announcing ‘Border 2’. Adding fuel to the excitement, Sunny Deol has now officially welcomed Varun to the project through a celebratory Instagram post, confirming their collaboration.
In an Instagram video shared by Sunny Deol on Friday, the anticipation for ‘Border 2’ reached new heights with the bold statement, “India’s Biggest War Film Gets Bigger.” The clip begins with nostalgic snippets from the original ‘Border’ film, set against the hauntingly powerful voice of Sonu Nigam singing the iconic “Sandese Aate Hai.” As the music fades, Varun Dhawan’s intense voiceover takes center stage: “Dushman Ki Har Goli Se, Jai Hind Bol Ke Takrata Hun. Jab Dharti Maa Bulati Hai, Sab Chodh Ke Aata Hun. Hindustan Ka Fauji Hu Main.” As these words resonate, the screen flashes the message, “Welcome Varun Dhawan to ‘Border 2’.” The actor shared the video with the caption, “Welcoming Fauji Varun Dhawan to the battalion of ‘Border 2’ .”
The much-anticipated sequel ‘Border 2’ is set to be directed by Anurag Singh, renowned for his work on the Akshay Kumar-starrer ‘Kesari’ (2019), which depicted the historic Battle of Saragarhi where 21 Sikh soldiers valiantly faced off against 10,000 Afghans in 1897.
‘Border 2’ follows in the footsteps of J.P. Dutta’s iconic 1997 blockbuster ‘Border’, which also starred Sunny Deol. The original film, set against the backdrop of the 1971 Longewala battle, showcased a small battalion of Indian soldiers defending against a large Pakistani strike force.
Bobby Deol will be next seen in Kanguva with Suriya. The film release has been postponed owing to avoid clash with Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyan.
