International superstar Nicki Minaj was supposed to perform in Britain on Saturday night, but she had to cancel at the last minute due to her arrest at Amsterdam airport on allegations that she was in possession of soft drugs. She had partially live-streamed the related event on social media. Just one day after being forced to postpone the show in Manchester, the singer-songwriter performed in Birmingham on Sunday, where she briefly discussed the issue. The US rapper’s penchant to confront issues, particularly those who attack her, has been made quite evident. In this situation, too, she did not cease Nicki-Minajing.
Nicki reportedly called out all the online trolls who were making fun of her for five or six hours, which is how long she claims she was detained, in the video footage that TMZ posted. She is heard saying, “Guess who’s still winning!!!”
At this point, Barbz (yes, that’s what her fans are called) yelled, expressing their love for the star. Thousands of fans were expected for Nicki’s performance at the Co-op Live venue in Manchester, but it had to be postponed at the last minute due to her arrest in the Netherlands hours earlier.
The 41-year-old rapper was detained at Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam due to allegations of soft drug possession. After finally arriving in Manchester late on Saturday night, she subsequently expressed her regret to the fans.
The Super Bass singer arrived late for her trip to the UK after being compelled to spend five to six hours in a detention cell before being freed without being charged.
After realising that the concert at Co-op Live in Manchester was not going to happen, she later commented on X. She wrote: “Please please please accept my deepest & most sincere apologies.” As Nicki live-streamed her Instagram feed, scores of fans flocked outside the hotel in only a few minutes.
While she was filming outside her room, fans yelled, “Nicki!” She shouted back, “Can you see me? Hi! You look nice and pretty!”
According to a video that was shared on social media, she told them, “I love you… and I’m so sorry.”
