Kantara 2 Shoot To Complete Soon, Rishab Shetty Starrer to Hit Theaters in Summer 2025: Report

Rishab Shetty’s Kantara 2 is one of the most highly anticipated films. Fans have been eagerly waiting for its release. Last year the makers shared the first look which increased the excitement level among the audience. And now Pinkvilla has reported that the shooting is almost completed and makers are eyeing for summer 2025 release. Well, an official confirmation is still awaited.

Pinkvilla quoted a source saying, “The indoor shoot remains, with about 15 to 20 days of work. The film will be wrapped up shortly, however, the post-production work has already begun. Kantara 2 is a lot bigger than Kantara, with the introduction of prequel and mythological elements in the story.’

The source further added that Hombale Films and Rishab Shetty are aiming to bring Kantara 2 on the big screen during the Summer 2025 period. “It’s a big-budget visual spectacle and the makers are investing a lot of time to get the VFX right. While most of the shoot has been wrapped up, the team is not compromising at all on the post-production and visual effects. The idea is to deliver a product that’s 10 notches above Kantara 1. The first promo to announce the film was just a glimpse to showcase the magnitude of part 2,” the source concluded.

Released in September 2022, Kantara starred Rishab Shetty in the lead. He had also written and directed the film. The film gained love from all including celebrities, political dignitaries, cricketers and the audience. The film also earned over Rs 450 crore at the box office.

It was in 2023 that Shetty announced that what the audiences saw was actually part 2 and therefore what will be released next will be Kantara’s prequel. “We are very pleased and thankful to the audience who had shown immense love and support to Kantara and taking the journey ahead, with the blessing of almighty Daiva the film has successfully completed 100 days and I would like to take this opportunity to announce the prequel of Kantara. What you have seen is actually Part 2, Part 1 will come next year,” he had said.
