Kangana Ranaut Says She Was Mocked For Her Looks In Old Video, Hrithik Roshan's Reaction Goes Viral | Watch

In 2009, on an episode of Farah Khan’s chat show Tere Mere Beach Mein, Kangana Ranaut and Hrithik Roshan made a rare joint appearance. Fast forward to now, a clip from that interview has resurfaced on Reddit, where Kangana opens up on how she was told she didn’t look like Rani Mukerji or Preity Zinta.

Kangana Ranaut, in the viral video, says, “Main auditions ke liye jaati thi toh mujhe kehte the ki ‘Tumhare baal curly kyun hai? Rani Mukerji ke baal dekho, bilkul curly nahi hai’ (When I would go for auditions, I was asked why do I have curly hair, unlike Rani, who does not have curly hair). Phir maine socha baal straight kara lete hai, toh phir uske baad kehte the ki ‘Tumhe dimple kyun nahi hai, Preity Zinta ko dimple hai’ (Then I thought perhaps I should get my hair straightened. But then I was told that I do not have dimples like Preity). So, I realised that basically – you cannot be somebody else.” Hrithik Roshan can be seen listening to her with rapt attention.

The controversy kicked off when Kangana mentioned “silly exes” in an interview. Although she didn’t name Hrithik Roshan, he hit back with a legal notice demanding a retraction, sparking a public feud. Kangana and her lawyer countered Hrithik’s claims. By 2016, the legal back-and-forth between Hrithik and Kangana had created a whirlwind of controversy with no clear resolution. Rumours of their alleged affair surfaced during the making of Krrish 3, followed by speculation about their split. Both stars kept quiet until Kangana’s interview brought the issue to the fore.

Reports also suggested that Kangana was originally cast opposite Hrithik in Aashiqui 3, but was removed after Hrithik allegedly refused to work with her. In the interview, Kangana mentioned exes doing silly things for attention, saying that she’s moved on and closed that chapter. This set off media and public speculation about whether she was referring to Hrithik Roshan.
