South star Harshvardhan Rane who has several blockbusters to his credit down South, is among the newest entrants in Bollywood making his debut in Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru’s ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’. But in spite of doing films in the South, the actor seems to share several uncanny similarities with Bollywood’s superstar Shah Rukh Khan.
Like SRK, Harshvardhan is also a complete outsider and comes from a non-film family with no connections in filmdom.
Like the B-Town star, who had started off his career in Fauji, Harshvardhan too had started off his career on TV playing in the army show ‘Left Right Left’. But that’s not all.
Harshavardhan has even done theatre from Barry John who is Shah Rukh’s acting guru. And just like SRK, the South actor too is debuting here in a romantic role.
Point out these similarities to the newbie and he says that they are co-incidences but feels honoured that people point it out to him. “Yes, I do get to hear it every time someone goes through my work. What can I say? I hope I can be as successful as him someday,” says the star, who will be making his Bollywood debut opposite Pakistan beauty Mawra Hocane.
Incidentally, SRK too has been paired with another Pakistani beauty Myra in ‘Raees’. Well too much of a co-incidence wouldn’t you say?
