The actress revealed that the casting couch incident affected her badly.

Upasana Singh is a popular actress in Bollywood. She has been working for more than four decades now. She has captivated the audience with her memorable performance. Upasana Singh is known for her impeccable comic timing. One of her standout performances came in the 1997 superhit film Judaai. The film was directed by Raj Kanwar. Upasana Singh starred alongside Anil Kapoor, Sridevi, and Urmila Matondkar. The film was a superhit, and the audience loved her double role. Her dialogue in ‘Abba Dabba Jabba’ from the film became iconic. Despite getting immense success for her role, she couldn’t get lead roles. Now, in a recent interview, she has revealed a casting couch experience in the industry that affected her badly.

It was not easy for Upasana to carve out a niche for itself in the entertainment industry. She revealed, “There was a time when I stopped working in films after a terrible incident. I won’t give a name, but a South film director had decided to cast me in a film with Anil Kapoor.” She added that it was an incredible moment for her, and she had told her close friends about it. She further added that the director once called her late at night at a hotel, and she was just 17 years old at that time. She continued that at that time she wasn’t aware of how to respond.

Upasana agreed to meet him but told him that she had no means to come. She said, “He said to me that he would send a car to pick me up.” Then the director told her, “Don’t you know what ‘sitting’ is? Everyone coming to Bollywood has to do this.” Upasana then understood what he meant. “Later, I went to his office and shouted at him in front of everyone,” she said. After refusing to meet him at the hotel, Upasana Singh lost her place in the Anil Kapoor-starrer film. Talking about the situation, she revealed that it had affected her a lot at that time.
