Boney Kapoor Reveals His Children Cried Over Candid Interviews: 'I Said Sorry, Made A Mistake''
Boney Kapoor recounted saying sorry to his kids Arjun Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor, Anshula Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor for oversharing in interviews.

In a recent interview, Boney Kapoor revealed that he tends to be quite candid, sometimes to a fault. He mentioned that his family members, particularly his children Arjun Kapoor, Anshula Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor, and Khushi Kapoor, often become upset with him for being too open in the media. Kapoor admitted that it can become overwhelming in their household when his kids feel displeased about him discussing sensitive matters publicly.

During a conversation with ABP Live, Boney Kapoor was asked about instances where he may have unintentionally revealed too much about his family in the press and the subsequent fallout within the family.

Boney acknowledged, “It has happened a lot of times. Whenever I sit down for an interview, I tell them that you just ask about me and not about family. Because sometimes, I get carried away and I say a lot of things. And they (my kids) say why do you have to speak so much?”

Boney mentioned that his children feel that certain aspects about their lives as actors should be discovered by the audience, rather than revealed in interviews by him. He admitted to apologizing when his children express disapproval, stating, “That’s when I say I am sorry, I made a mistake.” Regarding recent incidents, Boney clarified that as he hasn’t given any interviews in the past month, such situations haven’t arisen.

He recalled a time when things escalated to a point where his children became upset with him, resulting in them breaking down. Boney described how his kids scolded him and expressed their emotions, leading to moments of tears and apologies. He expressed, “They have scolded me, gotten upset with me. After getting upset, kids cried, I cried, I apologised, they said dad don’t say sorry. It has reached that height,”

During the recent promotional activities for ‘Maidaan,’ Boney had previously mentioned a disagreement with his brother Anil Kapoor regarding the making of ‘No Entry 2.’ While he initially shared this, when further questioned about his statement, Boney clarified that the situation had been exaggerated.

During the conversation with ABP Live, Boney was questioned about being recognized by his family members’ names. He responded, “I have always reveled in this backhanded glory. I was first known as Anil Kapoor’s brother, then I was known as Sridevi’s husband. Now I am known as Arjun, Anshula, Janhvi, Khushi’s father and Sanjay’s brother. I revel in this. I enjoy this.”

Boney Kapoor backed Maidaan starring Ajay Devgn was released last month. Directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma, it also starred Gajraj Rao, Priyamani among others.
