Vikramaditya Motwane’s suspense film CTRL recently debuted on OTT platforms and is garnering positive reviews from viewers. Alongside its captivating plot and direction, Ananya Panday is receiving significant acclaim for her remarkable portrayal of Nella, an influencer. The actress revealed that she didn’t have to look far for inspiration for her character, drawing from her cousin Alanna Panday and her husband Ivor, both of whom are well-known social media influencers.
In a conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Ananya Panday said that her cousin Alanna Panday and her husband Ivor are influencers who vlog about everything happening in their daily life. As a result, she believed they were the ideal people to draw inspiration from for her role as Nella in CTRL. She said, “I see a lot of influencers, but my cousin Alanna and her husband are couple bloggers. They make vlogs about everything – from when they met, to their wedding, to her pregnancy, and even her journey with their baby. They’ve covered it all on their YouTube channel. Watching them was a close-to-home reference, helping me understand the sacrifices required to be a public figure, especially when your life is exposed even more than an actor’s.” Ananya Panday also mentioned that comedian Sumukhi Suresh was on the writing team and is in contact with many influencers.
Ananya Panday stars in CTRL as a character who, after a tragic event, relinquishes control of her life to artificial intelligence. In the film, she plays Nella, who creates an account on the CTRL platform, enabling an AI assistant to manage her life and happiness. However, her journey takes a dramatic turn as she faces the repercussions of her dependence on AI. The film also features Vihaan Samat in a pivotal role and is available for streaming on Netflix.
Meanwhile, Alanna Panday is appearing in the reality series The Tribe, produced by Karan Johar’s Dharmatic Entertainment. The series also features Alaviaa Jaaferi, Srushti Porey, Aryaana Gandhi, Alfia Jafry and Hardik Zaveri. On the other hand, Ananya Panday was also seen in Call Me Bae, a series written by Ishita Moitra, Samina Motlekar, and Rohit Nair, and directed by Collin D’Cunha. This show starred Vir Das, Gurfateh Pirzada, Varun Sood, Vihaan Samat, Muskkaan Jaferi, Niharika Lyra Dutt, Lisa Mishra and Mini Mathur.
