Kannada producer and businessman allegedly attempted suicide at his residence at Mahalakshmi Layout, Bengaluru on Sunday, April 14. The investigation into the cause of death is still underway. The film industry is still in shock to hear the news of the untimely death of the producer. He was known for his work in films like Snehitaru, Appu and Pappu, Mast Maja Maadi and Ramleela. Several actors and producers visited Soundarya Jagadish’s residence to offer their condolences to the family and pay their respects to the producer.
Actor Upendra, Sri Murali and Prem were some of the many stars who visited the residence before the last rites of the producer. While visiting the house, the actor Prem got emotional and asked his fans to give strength to the producer’s family so that they could overcome this grief.
The actor called Soundarya a happy man who never stepped back from helping anyone. He said that the actor was also happy after successfully conducting her daughter’s marriage recently. Kannada actress Amulya was also one of the visitors who went to the house of Soundarya Jagadish. The actress got emotional and said that Soundarya Jagadish was like an elder brother to her. Amulya said that they recently met each other during a dinner party. They had a long conversation.
Police said investigations are on and all due process will be followed. They are currently terming it as a death by suicide. The close friend of the producer, Shreyas told the media that they found the body of Soundarya at the residence and was then carried to the hospital where he was declared dead by the doctors.
“There were no health issues; we are unable to tell you the reason suddenly. This happened today morning,” Jagadish’s friend Shreyas told reporters. Speculations were made that the producer was under heavy debt and could be the reason for his suicide. Quashing such rumours, Shreyas told that the producer’s business issues have no connection with his death. Soundarya Jagadish was under the medication for stress, as per police reports.
