The ones patiently waiting for the right time to get hitched, the season of marriage and wedding is right around the corner. According to the beliefs in Hinduism, the auspicious period starts this July. Renowned astrologer gives more insight on the dates and what to expect.
The favourable time for a wedding ceremony is expected to start on July 9 and will only last for 6 days. As per the beliefs, the planet Venus is going to rise on July 5, which is considered to be an important factor in a wedding ceremony.
According to Pandit Ghanshyam Sharma, Devshayan Ekadashi is on July 17, because of which no auspicious work will be carried out since the period will be unfavourable. Chaturmas is also starting on July 17.
In Hindu customs, marriages are not held after Devshayan. So, after the mentioned period, the auspicious time for marriages will be after four months, on November 12. It will be the day of Devuthani Ekadashi, which is going to commence the favourable time for marriage. As per more information given, the marriage mahurat is expected to last till December, only for 16 days.
In July, the wedding celebrations are to be held for 6 days, says Pandit Sharma. The reason for this is that there were no marriage mahurats in May and June. So, after July, the right time for marriage will be in November and December.
