South Korean Star Park Ji Ah, Who Was Seen in The Glory, Passes Away at 52; Cause of Death Revealed

South Korean actress Park Ji Ah passed away on September 30. The actress was seen playing Song Hye Kyo’s mother in the series, The Glory. The news of the actress’s death was confirmed by her agency. They revealed that she died in the wee hours of Monday. Her cause of death has been revealed as ischemic stroke. A South Korean news outlet also revealed that she was battling an undisclosed illness.

A report by JTBC revealed that Park Ji Ah died due to ‘cerebral infarction’, better known as an ischemic stroke. The actress was fighting her illness and suffered the stroke. “[Park Jia] recently collapsed due to a cerebral infarction and was battling it in the hospital, but unfortunately, she did not recover and passed away,” her close acquaintance shared, as reported by Soompi.

Her agency, Billions, issued the statement to Sports Donga about her death. “We are here to inform you of heart breaking news. Park Ji Ah passed away today at 2:50 am at the age of 52 after suffering an ischemic stroke,” the statement read.

“The funeral for the deceased has been set up at funeral hall 2 at the Asan Medical Center. The funeral procession will take place on October 2 at 10am. Billions will forever remember the passion the deceased had, as she loved acting right until the end. Once again, we express our deepest condolences to the deceased and may she rest in peace,” the agency added.
