World Career Day: Seminar held

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: “Talent, aptitude and passion must merge together to fashion a good career,” said Dr Venugopal S Reddy, physician and life skills consultant from the USA. He was speaking at a seminar on ‘Right career for right reason’  organised by the Career Club of Cotton Hill GHSS here on Monday. The seminar was organised in connection with the World Career Day.  He said that money must never be the guiding factor in the selection of a career.  ‘’We must select our hobby or  an interesting topic as our career. But parents today are least concerned about the taste of the child and insist that they choose a job which could reap huge amounts of money,’’ he said. He said that diffidence is the major inhibiting factor of Keralites. ‘’People in Kerala are highly educated and they have enough wisdom and knowledge. But what fails them is their shyness and lack of communication skills. It can be developed only through a series of activities like discussions, watching television, reading newspapers and through question and answer sessions,’’ he said.Reddy is the Director of the Pansight Career Building Firm, based in New York. A question answer session was also organised in connection with the seminar.
