A woman in Uttar Pradesh’s Bijnor allegedly tortured her husband by tying him up and burning his body parts with a cigarette. A complaint was lodged by the husband, following which the accused woman was arrested by Seohara district police on May 5.
The woman, identified as Mehar Jahan drugged her husband and tied his hands and legs before burning his body parts with a cigarette, the victim Manan Zaidi alleged.
The CCTV footage of the incident was also provided to the police and it shows Mehar Jahan physically torturing him and trying to strangle him while sitting on his chest.
The video also shows the woman burning her husband’s body parts with a cigarette.
“Based on the complaint, the police have registered a report against the accused woman under relevant sections and arrested her. Further action is being taken,” Superintendent of Police Dharampal Singh told India Today.
According to Zaidi, he had filed a police complaint earlier as well where he accused his wife of torturing him by giving intoxicants and by subjecting him to abuse.
A case was registered against the accused woman under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), which included attempt to murder, assault, and torture. She has currently been taken into custody.
According to a Times Now report, the couple got married nearly a year ago. After their marriage, she allegedly forced him to leave his family and live separately with her.
Reports claim that the woman would often beat him and torture him every single day.
