THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As part of the Commonwealth Day, 48 students from the tribal community visited the State Legislative Assembly here on Monday. Speaker G Karthikeyan, who welcomed the students with gifts, said education plays a vital role in bringing the weaker section to the mainstream. He said that though the reservation system exists, only through education can it be achieved. Students of class I to plus-one from Kotturu, Paruthipally, Vlavatty, Kulathumelu and Utharamkode Government Schools visited the Assembly. Chonampara ward member Sreedevi Suresh and Pradeep Kottur also accompanied them.
