Mumbai: While his lethal deliveries never took the straight path, when Wasim Akram talks, he never holds back.
Back on the familiar territory in India for media commitments, Wasim Akram is impressed with the turnaround of the Indian team.
And he expects a fierce contest in Pakistan in January as the Pakistan team too is firing all cylinders. But he had a word of caution for the Indians on experimenting too much
"If I were a fast bowler and see Irfan Pathan come to open, my heart will be this big and will be worried if I see Sehwag and Tendulkar. They are the best opening pair in the world and all this is silly," the former Pakistan captain said.
Akram said he expected flat wickets for the three test series in Pakistan and that the Indian side should select experienced players.
He was surprised at the exclusion of Zaheer Khan. And Akram is convinced that Ganguly should play in Pakistan.
"Ganguly should just go out and bat he has been India's best captain and now he should just thrash every one. Dravid should be smart enough to utilise Ganguly," Akram said.
Akram also came out strongly against the International Cricket Council?s (ICC) chucking policy in the wake of Shabbir Ahmed and Shoaib Malik's actions coming under the scanner once again.
