Three get double life sentence for gangraping, killing minor

A special fast track court here in Indore on Saturday awarded double life-imprisonment to three persons for gang-raping and killing a minor girl.

The sentence was awarded by special fast track court judge, Savita Dube after helding them guilty under section 302 (murder), 376 (rape) of the IPC and Protection of Children from the Sexual Offences Act, prosecution advocate, Ravindra Desai told reporters.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs 8,000 each on the convicts, Desai said. The trio had gang-raped the 12-year-old girl and later killed her on January 16 this year.

The trio had also tried to destroy the evidence against them by hiding her body in the bushes in Khudail area, the prosecution advocate added.
