TDP ZPTC member hacked to death

VIJAYAWADA: Challapalli ZPTC member and TDP district vice-president Tatineni Balaram was hacked to death at Vakkalagaddi village on Sunday night. The assailants attacked Balaram with lethal weapons while he was overseeing tank works in his village.Later, they fled the scene.TDP district president Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao, MLA Ambati Brahmanaiah, MP K Narayana, MLC YVB Rajendraprasad and other TDP leaders visited his house and consoled the bereaved family.The police suspect the hand of sand mafia in the murder as Balaram raised the issue at the Zilla Parishad meeting on Saturday and demanded stern measures to curb illegal transport of sand from Lankapalli.
