20. Taranagar is a state Assembly/Vidhan Sabha constituency in the state of Rajasthan and is part of Churu Lok Sabha/Parliamentary constituency. Taranagar falls in Churu district and North region of Rajasthan. It is categorised as a rural seat.
There are a total of 2,35,379 voters in the seat, which includes 1,23,561 male voters, and 1,11,818 female voters. In the 2018 Rajasthan elections, Taranagar recorded a voter turnout of 74.86%. In 2013 the turnout was 77.61%, and in 2008 it was 77.2%.
In 2013, Jai Narayan Pooniya of BJP won the seat by a margin of 11,136 votes (7.06%). Jai Narayan Pooniya secured 41.62% of the total votes polled.
BJP won this seat in the 2008 Assembly elections with a margin of 17,613 votes (12.52%), registering 38.76% of the total votes polled.
In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, BJP led in the Taranagar Assembly segment of the Churu Parliamentary/Lok Sabha constituency.
