CHENNAI: Janata Party president Subramanian Swamy on Wednesday alleged that Union Home Minister P Chidambaram might have been involved in spying on Union Minister Pranab Mukherjee at the behest of Congress leader Sonia Gandhi.Briefing reporters here, Swamy said, “Dismissing it as chewing gum is rubbish as intelligence agencies and spies use chewing gum to mount microphone or small cameras on them.”“The Prime Minister Manmohan Singh should constitute an inquiry committee into this,” he demanded.“Pranab Mukerjee’s office and home have been bugged on the orders of Chidambaram because of the nervousness about the Hasan Ali case in Sonia Gandhi’s coterie,” Swamy told reporters.When reporters insisted on what basis or evidence he accuses Chidambaram on the issue, Swamy declined to give any direct answer and said that he never speaks to media without any evidence.
