Srinagar: A student died in firing during a protest at Srinagar's Lal Chowk.

The protesters were shouting slogans against the killing of four people, including three children, on Wednesday in a crossfire between the Army and militants.

Some bystanders are blaming the CRPF for the student's death, but this claim is yet to be confirmed.

Meanwhile, the situation is tense in Kupwara. Angry villagers are blocking the Srinagar-Kupwara highway at Kulangam.

They are demanding a judicial probe and punishment for the guilty.

The incident occurred in Doodipora village when the Armymen allegedly opened fire on suspected militants.

While the suspects managed to escape, some boys playing cricket in a field nearby got hit.

Locals in the area are blaming the Army for the incident.
