HASSAN: Six persons, including two from the same family, were killed on the spot and 15 others injured when the multi-utility vehicle (MUV) they were travelling in overturned and fell into a ditch near Satenahalli Gate on Channarayapatna-Arsikere road on Friday night. The deceased have been identified as Sarvamangala [35], Ashwini [38], Chandrashekaraiah [60], Lokesh [12], Channiah [48] and Puttamadaiah of Gullahalli village of Channarayapatna taluk. The injured are recovering in Channarayapatna and Hassan government hospitals . The police have informed that the occupants of the vehicle were returning to their native after visiting Halu Rameshwara Temple at Hosdurga in Chitradurga district. The accident occurred when the driver lost control over the vehicle while negotiating a curve. The police have arrested the driver of the vehicle. Superintendent of police Amit Singh and DySP Parashuram have visited the spot. Channarayapatna rural police have registered a case.
