SI arrested in e-mail snooping case

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: : An accused in the controversial e-mail snooping case, Sub Inspector Biju Salim attached to the high-tech cell at the police headquarters, was remanded in police custody for 14 days on Sunday.Salim was summoned by the team investigating the case on Saturday evening and his arrest was recorded late night.  He was sent to the Poojappura sub jail after being presented before the Judicial First Class Magistrate-V, A M Ashraf, around 3 pm on Sunday. It is alleged that Biju had forged a letter of the police intelligence wing seeking e-mail account details of 268 prominent persons, all of whom were Muslims.
