Captain Graeme Smith claims Shoaib has been a big disappointment in the One-Day Super Series in Melbourne.

New Delhi: Pakistani fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has been left out of the World XI squad that will play Australia in the six-day super Test starting in Sydney on Friday.

Though he is touted as the world?s fastest bowler, Shoaib conceded 110 runs in 17 overs without taking a wicket in the first two matches of the One-Day series and didn't play the third.

The captain of the World XI side, South Africa?s Graeme Smith, said that the decision on who will do 12th man duties will be taken on the morning of the match.

Australian captain Ricky Ponting also wants to inspect the pitch on Friday morning before finalising the make-up of his side.

Both teams are expected to play two spinners on the pitch known to favour slow bowling.

Umpires: Simon Taufel (Australia), Rudi Koertzen (South Africa).
