Mohali: A police inquiry has been ordered to probe a security breach, which saw two men enter the England dressing room and film the players on the opening day of the Mohali Test against India.
England's Media Manager Andrew Walpole said that they had brought the matter to the notice of the local authorities and handed over the culprits to them.
"The incident occurred on the opening day of the game. The pair found their way to the entrance of the room. Our three-member security team managed to apprehend them and handed them over to the local authorities," Walpole told PTI.
The lapse in security was startling since hundreds of policemen have been deployed in and around the ground and at the team hotel.
England have also brought with them their personal security staff for the tour.
A member of the ICC's Security and Anti-Corruption Bureau N S Virk said it was not a part of their duty to keep a check on who all were entering the dressing rooms.
ICC norms allow only persons with official accreditations to enter the dressing room.
A Punjab Cricket Association official, however, said it was not a major incident.
"The two men were from Jalandhar city and had match tickets with them. We impounded their cameras and the tape has also been destroyed."
