Sania in 2nd rd of doubles at Bangalore

New Delhi: India's Sania Mirza started off by winning the first round at the doubles of the Bangalore Open partnering Italy's Mara Santangelo on Tuesday.

The Indo-Italian pair won the first round at the doubles event beating Akgul Amanmuradova and Tatiana Poutchek in straight sets.

Mirza and Santangelo won the first set easily, and eventhough their opponents put up some fight in the second, it was not enough.

Sania and Santangelo won 6-2, 7-6 to advance into the second round of the inaugural WTA event in the city.
