HYDERABAD: The Sri Satya Sai Central Trust on Monday submitted a detailed report to the Andhra Pradesh government on its various activities and its financial status including movable and immovable assets. As per the instructions of the government, the initial report, running into hundreds of pages, also includes future plans of the Trust like social service activities. The Sai Trust representatives called upon principal secretary for endowments KV Ramanachary and submitted the report. The Trust members said the extensive report covers full details of all the reports submitted to statutory agencies of the central and state governments. In addition to the balance sheet and income and expenditure statements, the report also contains information on the functioning of all institutions affiliated to the Trust at Prashanthi Nilayam. A few other supplementary reports are also likely to be submitted to the government shortly. The government officials said that the government will study the report and verify the facts with the authorities concerned before drawing any conclusion. Sources said that the intelligence department was also asked to submit a report with regard to the activities of the Sai Trust. “We suspect it may take about a month to draw any conclusions,” said a senior government official. When asked as to whether the government will take over the Trust, sources said that the State will not take any action without verifying the facts in the report.Meanwhile. Trust media coordinator Anantaraman said that it is not possible for them to divulge the details of the report to the media. It may be recalled that the government had given several exemptions and never interfered in the functioning of the Trust for several years to respect the sentiments of the devotees of Satya Sai Baba though the trust was registered under the Endowments Act.In view of cash seizures and allegations made by a section of devotees, the government had asked the Trust to submit a detailed report on its financial and social activities on June 27 . Though the government had not fixed any deadline for the submission, the Trust members submitted it within two weeks.
