Sabarimala temple opens

PATHANAMTHITTA: The hill abode of Lord Ayyappa in Sabarimala was opened for the five-day monthly poojas for the Malayalam month of Meenam on Tuesday. Melsanthi G Balamurali opened the sanctum sanctorum of the temple at 5.30 p m in the presence of Thantri Kandararu Maheswararu.As a  practice, hardly any pooja was conducted at the temple in the  evening. Sabarimala executive officer M Satheeshkumar said sahasrakalasam and kalabhabhishekam would be conducted on all the days.  The temple would be closed on March 18 evening after athazha pooja and Harivarasanam.
