New Delhi: When a French tourist offered pizza to a homeless man scouring waste in the streets of New York, little did she know that she was trying to help actor Richard Gere who was shooting for one of his forthcoming film 'Time Out of Mind'.
According to news reports, Karine Valnais Gombeau couldn't recognize the actor, who was spotted digging though the trash near Grand Central station in Manhattan. The actor was unrecognizable as he wore a messy anorak and beanie hat to do justice to his role.
The lady, who was accompanied by her husband and son, was visibly moved his awful condition and also gave Gere their leftover pizza, which the actor accepted, saying, "Thank you so much. God bless you".
The tourist didn't realize who she had helped until she saw herself featured in the New York Post a few days later.
