Ramdev calls for 'tit for tat' policy to deal Pakistan

Mumbai: Yoga guru Ramdev on Saturday said India should hold talks with Pakistan but must give a befitting reply to terror attacks on its soil.

"Modi ji should give Pakistan 'Eet ka jawab patthar se' (tit for tat). If they kill two of our people, 10 people of theirs should be killed, at the same time peace talks should continue. We need to adopt the path of peace and show large heartedness and bravery as well," Ramdev said while addressing reporters.

He said country's morale has been shaken due to some incidents that happened in the recent past and now serious actions must be taken against Pakistan.

"India is neither weak nor are we scared of anybody. But, the morale of the nation has taken a hit due to some incidents of the past. Serious steps should be taken against Pakistan," he added.

Speaking on the Ram Temple issue, Ramdev said the whole country knows that Prophet Mohammed was not born in Ayodhya and that the issue should not be "politicised".

He further said Lord Ram is the pride of the nation and there should be no controversies regarding the country's pride.

"People consider Lord Ram as an example and he is known as the pride of the country. Thus, the (Ram temple) issue should not be politicised and there should be no controversies on Lord Ram, who is considered to be the nation's pride. Everybody knows Prophet Mohammed was not born in Ayodhya, but Lord Ram was," he said.

Ramdev said there is no communal intolerance in the country but intolerance towards thoughts and ideas.

"Once this intolerance ends, there will be complete peace in the country. The Constitution provides us with some fundamental rights through which we can raise our voice. Stifling that voice is the intolerance of thoughts and politics," he said.
