NAYAGARH: The decision of BJD supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to nominate Rabi Mohapatra as Rajya Sabha candidate has been hailed in the district. Known for integrity, Mohapatra of Ranpur started his political career as the sarpanch of Ranpur GP in 1984. Later, he was vice-president of Nayagarh Zilla Parishad from 2002 to 2007. He has been Nayagarh BJD unit president for the last 10 years. Mohapatra is currently president of Nayagarh Central Cooperative Bank.
