THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Pulayasangamam, the centenary of Ayyankali’s entry into the Sree Moolam Praja Sabha, will be celebrated in the capital on April 20, 21 and 22. The 41st anniversary of KPMS, 150th Avittagosham and P K Chathan Master commemoration will also be held as part of the programme. Addressing media persons here on Wednesday, office-bearers of the centenary committee said that around 2 lakh persons will attend the cultural procession on April 20 at 3 p.m. Floats, percussion ensembles, and folk art forms will be the attractions of the programme. The public meeting to be held at Chandrasekharan Nair stadium at 6 p.m. will be inaugurated by SNDP general secretary Vellappalli Natesan. Ministers and prominent political leaders will attend the programme. Dalit litterateur N K Jose will be honoured at the function. The 41st delegates’ meet will be held on April 21 at Priyadarsini hall. The budget for 2012-2013 and annual report will also be presented at the function. A discussion on ‘SC/ST communities and people’s representatives among them’ will be held at 3 p m. KPMS state president T V Babu, general secretary N K Neelakandan Master, treasurer Cheruvakkal Arjunan, general convener Koliyoor Chandran and publicity convener Poonthura Pradeep attended the news conference.
