BANGALORE: BASE, the Bangalore-based premier training organisation, has announced learning programmes for this summer entitled Discover, N Skill and Out2Learn. These programmes have been devised by a team of professionals including child psychologists and senior teachers for the students of classes between 5 and 8 and are not disjoint from the academic subjects and complement the learning at school. The classes for these programmes will commence from the first week of April. The schedules for all three programmes have been framed in such a way that a student can opt for any one, or two or all three programmes. The aim of these summer programmes are to make students enjoy their summer holidays by getting exposed to a flavour of experiential learning, improving skills and have a wonderful time enjoying outdoor activities.Discover is an activity based experiential learning programme that will help students to seek the next level of learning in science and mathematics. N Skill is a child centric initiative that is focused on nurturing life skills in the formative stages of children and enables them to extend their learning from the class room to real life situations. The programme comprises of activities which are facilitated through different techniques like role-play, mind mapping, brain storming, debate, group discussion, painting, crafts etc which makes learning fun-filled and effective.Out2Learn is a programme which is designed to build confidence, overcome fear, inculcate action orientation, improve personal effectiveness and enhance the overall development of the individual. The camp focuses on creating a powerful learning experience to students beyond academics.“Activity-based method of teaching helps the students in better understanding of the subject and results in effective retention. The core objective of these programmes are to enable learnting without the pressure of performing and promote the joy of true learning. These programmes have been designed to help children to motivate and restore their undiscovered treasured potential. This is how non-linear thinking is initiated into the students,” said Vallish Herur, director of BASE.
